Jota Silva’s time at Nottingham Forest is set to end after Besiktas finalised a deal to sign him.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs reached an agreement on Thursday, with Silva flying out tonight to complete the move.

The deal is structured as a loan worth approximately €3 million, with a buy option of around €17 million that could become mandatory.

Silva joined Forest from Vitoria Guimaraes in 2024 but struggled to establish himself in the Premier League.

He featured for just 840 minutes across 31 appearances last season, scoring three goals, and has played only 12 minutes in the current campaign.

Besiktas moved quickly to sign the Portuguese forward before the Turkish transfer window closes. Silva will become their latest high-profile addition as they look to mount a title challenge.

The 26-year-old never fully convinced at the City Ground after being brought in by compatriot Nuno Espirito Santo.

The former Forest manager’s exit and the arrival of Ange Postecoglou further reduced Silva’s chances of regular football.

Postecoglou is in the process of evaluating the squad, and his exit allows the new boss to focus on players who fit more closely with his style of play.

Silva’s ability to stretch defences could make him a valuable asset in the Turkish Super Lig, where Besiktas are chasing domestic honours and progress in Europe.

Forest will benefit financially from a deal that provides an immediate loan fee and the prospect of a permanent transfer next year. The club also lighten their wage bill as they adjust to Postecoglou’s tenure.
