Nottingham Forest winger Jota Silva is nearing a switch to Olympiacos, with the move said to be in its final stages, according to Sport24.
The report says he has made clear he wants the move, attracted by the chance to work under head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar. There remains uncertainty over whether the deal would be permanent or a loan.
Silva spent last season on loan at Besiktas after a deadline-day transfer to Sporting Lisbon fell through because of an administrative error. Besiktas held an option to buy but did not trigger it.
The 26-year-old had recently discussed the possibility of returning to the City Ground and believed Vitor Pereira’s presence could hand him another Premier League opportunity. Pereira has since been sacked and is set to be replaced by Oliver Glasner. Silva said he would report for duty and aim for a strong season, at Forest or elsewhere.
He joined Forest from Vitoria Guimaraes in summer 2024 for an initial £6m. If this move is completed, he would follow defender David Carmo, whose return to Olympiacos was confirmed earlier this week, while Forest have yet to announce it.
Olympiacos said Carmo made 22 LaLiga appearances for Real Oviedo last season, previously helped win the Europa Conference League, and won a domestic double in 2024-25.
It has been a quiet start to the window for Forest, with Elliot Anderson’s £116m sale to Manchester City completed this week and no incomings yet. Glasner’s impending arrival could shape the next steps.
