Cole Palmer will get all the praise for his superb hattrick against Wolves on Saturday, but there were a number of Blues who did well.
Striker Joao Pedro didn’t keep up his scoring streak, but played well once again leading the line. It seems he’s already done enough to convince one journalist that he is the future.
Lloyd Canfield from the Sun claimed that “the real damage” to the home team was done by JP, who won both the penalties that Palmer put away.
“[His] sharp movement and clever body positioning repeatedly forced Wolves into desperate challenges. They knew the danger posed by the Brazilian, but couldn’t stop it,” Canfield wrote, before noting that the the “synergy” between them is now the key ingredient in our attack.

We’ve not seen nearly enough of Palmer and JP on the pitch together thanks to the former’s injury. We hope that changes now. Palmer had really great chemistry with Nicolas Jackson, and we’re hoping the same can happen with JP as they spend more time playing together.
Unlike Jackson, he doesn’t always try to run in behind, so it’s harder for Palmer to read his intentions. But over time they should be able to form some pretty deadly combinations. He’s better at playing with his back to goal, and that creates a whole load of new possibilities for Cole.
Cole Palmer shone against Wolves with 3 goals, and the London is Blue podcast discussed how important it was going to be to have him back to his best for the rest of the season.
Two Chelsea players made it into the WhoScored team of the week this week, you can probably guess one of them – but what about the other?
