Liverpool Transfer News: French Forward on the Reds’ Radar

With the final game of the season looming, attention is starting to turn towards Liverpool’s summer transfer plans. After a £450m spend last year, another busy window is expected.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have both confirmed their plans to leave, whilst the likes of Alisson Becker, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Federico Chiesa could all follow them out of the door.

The Reds have already wrapped up one signing, with Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet making the switch to Anfield in a £60m deal.

But now, they’re looking to bolster their attacking plans. RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and PSG’s Bradley Barcola have both been mentioned as potential Salah replacements.

However, another name has surfaced…

Maghnes Akliouche to Liverpool?

Journalist Nicolo Schira has claimed that Liverpool are ‘monitoring’ AS Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche.

“Liverpool and PSG are monitoring Maghnes Akliouche, who seems ready leave AS Monaco in the summer transfer window,” said Schira.

The 24-year-old has had another strong season for Monaco, scoring seven goals and assisting another eleven.

Whilst naturally a right-winger, Akliouche is more than capable of featuring on the opposite flank and as a number ten. That versatility is worth its weight in gold at top European clubs.

With just two years remaining on his current deal at Monaco, he could be available for a decent fee. That could make him a more cost-effective option than Diomande or Barcola, for example.

However, PSG competition wouldn’t be easy to compete with. As the current European champions, one game away from retaining their crown, they’re comfortably the best team in Europe.

But would Akliouche fancy his chances to break up the front three of Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue? Or would he end up as a backup, like Barcola?

This could be one to keep an eye on as we head into the summer transfer window, where you can expect Liverpool to be very active.
