Juan Roig has ruled out buying Valencia, amid sustained supporter unrest over Peter Lim’s ownership.
AS reports that he addressed the subject while presenting Mercadona’s 2025 results, speaking as owner of Valencia Basket and a leading backer of sport in the city.

He said running Valencia Basket takes more out of him than Mercadona, adding that a sports club operates in a different galaxy.
He noted that many people ask about a takeover, but said he has enough on his plate with Valencia Basket.
Roig had ties to Valencia in the 90s, when his brother Paco Roig served as club president.
Supporters have protested for years against Lim and want him to sell. Few Valencian business figures could finance a bid of that scale.
