Jurgen Klopp ‘Keeping An Eye’ On Southampton Star As Future Uncertain | OneFootball

Southampton midfielder Caspar Jander’s future is up in the air amid interest from the Bundesliga, with new Germany boss Jurgen Klopp keeping an eye on him.

Saints suffered heartbreak even after defeating Middlesbrough in the Championship playoff semi-finals, but were punished for the spygate saga.

Tonda Eckert’s verdict on the spygate, though, is yet to come, and the club could lose some of their key players amid the unsettling atmosphere.

Southampton, though, have paid close to £10m for versatile attacker Lewis Dobbin, who joined the club from Aston Villa.

Saints have two quality midfielders in the shape of Shea Charles and Jander, who are highly rated.

Leeds United, alongside multiple Premier League clubs, tried to sign Charles, but Southampton have so far been able to keep hold of him.

German midfielder Jander, though, is currently attracting transfer interest from his homeland, with less than a month remaining in the summer window.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Bundesliga clubs have made enquiries about the 23-year-old.

His future is uncertain at St Mary’s, but his qualities are being noticed by the current Germany coach, Klopp.

The former Liverpool boss has been trusted to take Germany forward following a disappointing World Cup campaign for Die Mannschaft.

Jander played a central role at the Saints last season, featuring 43 times across all competitions, and Klopp is ‘keeping an eye on him’.

German top-flight side Stuttgart have been admirers of the 23-year-old for years and could still consider him an option this summer.

The former Germany Under-21 international’s current deal runs until the summer of 2028 at St Mary’s and Southampton will try to keep hold of their star man in the engine room.

Southampton kick off their competitive game of the new season this weekend, as they face Colchester in the EFL Cup, and it remains to be seen whether the German will stay in England.
