Everyone at FC Barcelona were eagerly awaiting the verdict from the court over their appeal to secure a precautionary measure to register attacking midfielder Dani Olmo for the second half of the season.
The Blaugrana as well as La Liga had presented their case in front of the judge in Commercial Court No. 10 this past Monday as the club sought to register the 26-year-old before the new year.
However, in a huge blow for Barcelona, Mundo Deportivo reports that the verdict from the court has gone against the club.
Indeed, Judge Ignacio Fernandez de Senespleda, from the Commercial Court No. 10 in Barcelona, made the ruling public on Friday and did not grant the precautionary measure that would have allowed the club to register Olmo.
The judge’s decision regarding Olmo’s registration follows a hearing on Monday, when lawyers from both Barça and La Liga were summoned to the Ciutat de la Justicia in Barcelona to present their arguments following the lawsuit filed by the club.

Barcelona had kept the issue under wraps, but they were confident that the judicial ruling would be in their favour and that it would allow Olmo to be registered. However, the decision did not go their way.
Following the unfavourable verdict, On Monday, December 30, Barcelona will file a new lawsuit against La Liga in a lower court, seeking to obtain the precautionary measure that will allow Olmo to play in the second half of the season.
The argument that the Catalans will present is that all the registration rules are invalid because they are regulated by an authority they consider incompetent, the Delegate Commission of La Liga.
Time is running out for Barcelona, as their deadline to register Olmo for the competition is Tuesday, December 31.
As has been reported, the Blaugrana are also working on a Plan B in the form of the sale of VIP box seats at the new Spotify Camp Nou, which could lead to revenue of €120 million.
