Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been name-dropped as a target for Juventus.
The Spurs shot-stopper is widely expected to leave the North London outfit this summer following an unimpressive 2025/26 campaign.
Antonin Kinsky has taken the starting berth under new Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi, extending his stay at the club by signing a new deal.
Juventus are in the race for Vicario after Inter Milan pulled out of the deal. Juve CEO Carnevali name-dropped Emiliano Martinez and Vicario as targets this summer.
Vicario joined Tottenham in 2023 and had a terrific start to his reign between the sticks before losing form over the past two seasons.
Last term, the 29-year-old Italy international struggled with injuries that forced him to miss a chunk of the season.
Spurs have signed Karl Darlow to compete with Kinsky, making Vicario surplus to requirements at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The interest is there, and Juventus have now made it public. That naturally raises expectations.
Name-dropping Vicario is a statement of intent, but statements alone will not convince Tottenham to do business.
If the Bianconeri genuinely believe he is the right man to reclaim the No.1 shirt, they now have to match those words with action.
Spurs are unlikely to stand in Vicario’s way if a suitable offer arrives.
However, Spurs have never been known for accepting cut-price bids, and they should not expect a bargain simply because he is no longer first choice.
If Juve want Vicario, they need to stop testing the waters and start putting serious money on the table.
Publicly identifying him as a target only increases the pressure to follow through. Anything that resembles a lowball proposal will almost certainly be dismissed.
The windfall would add to Spurs’ war chest as they bid to bolster their squad with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
