Juventus Coach Motta Heaps Praise on Lazio & Baroni: ”I Admire Him”

Juventus manager Thiago Motta only had positive things to say about his Lazio counterpart Marco Baroni as the two sides prepare to clash heads at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Saturday.

The Biancocelesti are currently riding a four-match winning streak between the Serie A and the Europa League, but beating the Bianconeri would arguably be their best result since the start of the season. However, this won’t be an easy task as the Old Lady has yet to taste defeat this term, registering three wins and four draws in the league.

The contest will also feature a compelling showdown on the sidelines between Motta, and Baroni. Both managers changed clubs in the summer after finding marvelous success at Bologna and Hellas Verona respectively. But for the first time, they will meet one another as the coaches of Juventus and Lazio.

Motta Hails Baroni’s Work

In his pre-match press conference (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Motta lauded Baroni’s work with his previous employers, while also praising him for what he has already achieved in the Italian capital.

Lazio is a good team that is doing well at the moment. They have a very experienced coach who comes from many, many, many successful seasons between Serie A and Serie B. I admire him a lot and I Congratulate him for the work he conducted in the previous campaigns, as he always had difficult tasks. It’s wonderful compete against such a great colleague. But We are ready to do anything to put in a great performance and secure for a positive result.

Motta Not Surprised by Lazio

Motta insists he isn’t surprised by what Lazio have thus far achieved in the first few months of the season, as they possess all the required tools to produce a solid campaign.

I expected Lazio to be in a high place in the Serie A table because they have a great team, good players and a great coach. Nobody gives anything away to anyone. They are in this position in the standings because they deserve it. It will be a good match, but we must do our job well and earn a good result.

Lazio currently sit fourth in the Serie A table after collecting 13 points from the first seven weeks of the campaign. They are one par on points with Juventus, but the Bianconeri start the weekend in third place thanks to a superior goal difference.
