Robert Lewandowski’s future at FC Barcelona continues to remain up in the air, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Joan Laporta, currently running for the club presidency, has expressed his desire to offer the veteran superstar a one-year extension should he return to the office.

However, Lewandowski himself has shown no hurry to make a decision and is relaxed about the situation, amid interest from MLS club Chicago Fire and AC Milan in Italy.

Juventus also want Lewandowski

Now, according to Tuttosport (h/t AS), Juventus have also shown an interest in signing Lewandowski in the summer if he leaves Barcelona as a free agent.

This comes after former Bianconeri striker and club icon, David Trezeguet, suggested that they should try to sign the 37-year-old Poland captain for next season.

“I would sign Lewandowski for free, even at 37: he’s in a league of his own, one of the last true number nines alongside Haaland,” Trezeguet said.

“Lewandowski may no longer have the physique he once had, but despite not playing regularly, he scored 14 goals for Barcelona: he is strong and intelligent,” he added.

“Lewandowski would arrive at Juve knowing where he is coming from and what is expected of him: goals. If the opportunity arose, I would take him to Turin myself.”

Juventus see Lewandowski as a signing in the same mould as Luka Modric at AC Milan, with the veteran Croatian excelling in Serie A after joining the Rossoneri as a free agent from Real Madrid last summer.

Dusan Vlahovic, who appears set to stay and renew with the Bianconeri, but their interest in Lewandowski exists. Whether it materialises into a transfer remains to be seen.
