Juventus unveiled Igor Tudor on Thursday a few days after his appointment. Cristiano Giuntoli explained their change of heart after initially confirming Thiago Motta (via TuttoSport).

“I wish to thank him for his effort. Our relationship will remain great. He’ll be able to coach at a high level again. After my words following the Fiorentina game, we analyzed our going in recent games with a cooler head, which worried us. We opted for a U-turn because it was important for Juventus.” “Tudor was immediately our choice not only for his past here, but because of his technical, human, and moral skills. He’ll be with us until the Club World Cup, and then we’ll discuss. Our hope is to continue together to further our project. This team can give us satisfaction in the future given its age. This year will serve as an experience.”

Tudor kept things close to the vest tactically besides praising a few players.

“Everybody would want to coach this team. I believe in our roster a lot. I don’t look for excuses in life and want responsibility from the players. Dusan Vlahovic is very strong and has everything. The same goes for Randal Kolo Muani. They can play together.” “We can do everything. The most important thing is to have strong contributors. When you have those, it’s easy to find roles for them. The lads were sorry because it’s partially their fault when a coach is ousted. But they are also eager and motivated. Manuel Locatelli will be our captain. I’ve been in a few places, and I live in the present. I wish to be here long-term, but a ten-year contract wouldn’t change that. We can’t control the future.”
