South Korea were rather surprisingly beaten by South Africa last night in a blow to their World Cup qualification hopes.
They should still go through – but it could be as a third placed team. Despite the defeat, PSG’s Kang-in Lee played well, as he has all tournament. Atletico Madrid have been strongly linked with him, and we had come to assume it was pretty much a done deal.
However a report from the Gazzetta dello Sport today claims that Juventus have joined the race. The 25 year old has been a really handy player for PSG, and we can see why multiple top teams might want him. For his part, Lee is keen to move to a club where he is an undisputed starter.
This new interest is of course good news for PSG, who can hopefully get a better fee for their attacker now there are multiple teams interested. Lee seems to prefer a return to Spain, where he had great success at Valencia.
Michael Olise is a player who is forever going to be linked to PSG – and there’s another wave of rumours from Germany this week.
Liverpool are pushing hard for Yan Diomande, but RB Leipzig are rebuffing their advances in the hope that PSG will get involved in the bidding war and jack the numbers up even higher.
