Juventus had to be more active than anticipated in January to remedy some injuries, adding Alberto Costa, Llyod Kelly, Renato Veiga, and Randal Kolo Muani. Despite that, their payroll didn’t increase. The arrivals were offset by the departures of Danilo, Arthur, and Nicolò Fagioli. The first two had fairly rich wages, Calcio e Finanza relays.

The exits will generate a €10.5M positive impact for this season. Instead, the acquisitions, mostly temporary, will have a €15.5M cost on their balance sheets for the second half of the campaign. The tally is negative but just by €5M. In the long haul, they spent €12M for the Portuguese fullback and committed €17M for the English defender. The disbursement for the latter almost coincides with what they’ll get in the deal with Fiorentina.

Juventus continued using their Next Gen products to finance their moves in January, La Stampa relays (via Tuttomercatoweb). Fagioli is highly likely to stay with the Viola permanently. Once that happens, the Bianconeri will have pocketed €140M from the youngsters that spent time in their second team.

The other notable ones were Koni de Winter, Radu Dragusin, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, Matias Soulé, and Dean Huijsen. The Bournemouth center-back is currently the biggest regret. However, he wouldn’t have been a starter had he stayed in Turin last summer.

Juventus currently roster four former Next Gen players: Kenan Yildiz, Nicolò Savona, Samuel Mbangula, and Jonas Rouhi. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady will have to fend off major offers for the Turk in the summer. They recently met with Jorge Mendes. He suggested that the Premier League powerhouses could bid €80/90M to add him to their collections of stars.
