Juventus have reportedly been told that Viktor Gyokeres prefers a move to North London rather than Turin this summer, and have reportedly set a deadline for negotiations with free agent, Jonathan David.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, Bianconeri general manager Damien Comolli has been told by Gyokeres’s agent that the Swede has expressed a preference in joining Arsenal this summer, instead of the Old Lady.

Recent reports claim that Juventus were prepared to offer €60m plus around €10m in bonuses to land the Swedish sensation from Sporting CP, which is higher than the €55m plus bonuses bid that Arsenal had seen rejected earlier in the month.

While Sporting had reportedly been keen to negotiate with Juventus, the Portuguese giants are aware of Gyokeres’s preferences. And, given that Juve were close to finding an agreement with Sporting, Corriere dello Sport claims that they have now provided Arsenal with an enormous ‘assist’.

The 25-year-old is reportedly seeking an annual salary in the region of €7m, although he will also likely command a significant signing-on bonus. Corriere dello Sport predicts that Juventus will have to pay somewhere in the region of €12m in ancillary payments to the player’s agent as well.

Given that Juventus need a new striker for the 2025-26 season, Corriere dello Sport claims that there is a deadline for mid-July when it comes to negotiations with David.

Otherwise, the Old Lady will be forced into looking at some of their other options again: Amongst them is Italy international Mateo Retegui.
