Juventus make formal approach to sign Karim Benzema as he favours European return | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Juventus have made a formal approach to sign Karim Benzema (38) from Al-Ittihad. The French international striker has made it clear that he wishes to leave the Saudi Pro League club before the end of the transfer window. 

The 38-year-old refused to play in Al-Ittihad’s latest match against Al Fateh after he was left upset by the Saudi club’s latest attempt to extend his contract. This has only heightened speculation around the forward’s future. 

Benzema to return to Europe?

As they look to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window,  Juventus have enquired about the former Real Madrid striker’s availability. With Saudi Arabian clubs also interested in the Frenchman’s services, Sacha Tavolieri reports that the Ballon d’Or winner’s priority is to return to Europe, with France his preferred destination.
