FC Barcelona continue their efforts to sign a left winger this summer to complete next season’s attacking lineup.

Liverpool ace Luis Diaz remains the primary target, with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford seen as a more financially viable alternative. However, in recent weeks, another name has emerged as a possible reinforcement for that position.

That name is Turkish international Kenan Yildiz, a Juventus forward who stood out for the Italian side last season and has also impressed at the FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored three goals and provided two assists in four matches.

Barça were interested in Yildiz before he signed for Juventus from Bayern Munich, and reports suggested that he could become an option for the team again this summer.

Juventus wish to renew

However, Juventus consider Yildiz to be a key figure for both the present and future of the club. As a result, they have already begun working on a contract extension for the talented winger, whose current deal runs until 2029.

This comes from Corriere dello Sport (h/t Mundo Deportivo), who claim that Juventus are preparing a lucrative renewal offer to prevent the 20-year-old forward from being swayed by interest from abroad.

The new contract would include a significant salary increase to €3.5 million per year, potentially rising to €4 million with bonuses, and would extend to 2030 with an option for an additional season.

The same report notes that Bayern Munich, where Yildiz was developed in the youth ranks, and Barcelona are the two clubs currently most interested in the player.

Juventus value him at approximately €100 million, a fee that is currently out of reach for Barcelona. Any move for the Turkish prodigy, thus, appears out of the question for the La Liga champions.
