Juventus are reportedly preparing an offer for Inter Milan target Giovanni Leoni, while Liverpool are also keen.

This according to today’s print edition of the Gazzetta di Parma, via FCInterNews.

All eyes are on Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the outstanding defenders in Serie A before even turning twenty.

Leoni had already caught Inter’s eye last summer. However, they failed to get a deal done with Sampdoria for him as Parma instead signed the young defender.

But Leoni’s performances last season truly solidified Inter’s interest. Not least after Inter appointed Cristian Chivu as coach from Parma.

However, Inter would face plenty of competition for Leoni’s signature.

On the one hand, the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan look to have pulled out of the race.

The Rossoneri are close to a deal for Koni De Winter after selling Mallick Thiaw.

However, that does not mean that there are not other major rivals to sign Leoni.

The Gazzetta di Parma report that, behind the scenes, Juventus are hard at work trying to swoop for Leoni.

The newspaper report that the Bianconeri are putting together a comprehensive offer including fee, conditions, and add-ons. They hope to present it soon.

And considering Inter are still waiting to drum up the funds to make their own offer for Leoni, time is not on their side.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta di Parma also report that Premier League giants Liverpool’s interest in Leoni is much more than just making a couple inquiries.
