Juventus have had some preliminary contacts with the entourage of Lorenzo Lucca to see if there’s a chance for him to transfer in January. Udinese would rather keep him until the end of the season when his valuation will likely be higher. Still, they could be open for business with the right offer, TuttoSport informs.

Cristiano Giuntoli and the Old Lady have often signed players from the Friulani in recent campaigns. The 24-year-old has gotten off to a good start, scoring thrice in the first eight Serie A games, adding two more goals in the Coppa Italia.

Juventus are testing the waters for a few options, and the first approach with the agent Lucca, Giuseppe Riso, was positive. The terms remain to be determined. Udinese paid nearly €9M to sign him from Pisa. He spent a season on loan at Ajax in the recent past but wasn’t bought out. He recently debuted with the Azzurri. The Old Lady are also waiting in the wings to assess whether there could be something there concerning Joshua Zirkzee.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bianconeri could indeed sign a new marksman, but the priority is to find a center-back to substitute for Gleison Bremer. They’d be content with leaning on Arkadiusz Milik if he solved his health issues.

Our Take on Juventus and Lucca

He’d be a sound choice as is arguably overqualified to be a deputy, albeit in a top team. They’d probably be able to cook up an advantageous formula with Udinese, postponing most of the disbursement to future years. Yet, they’d be better off finding somebody who could fit next to Dusan Vlahovic more easily.
