Multiple outlets in Italy report that Juventus are more keen than ever to secure a deal with Lille striker Jonathan David ahead of the summer transfer window after his goal in the 1-1 Champions League draw on Tuesday night, but the Bianconeri are expected to face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Juventus prepared for David battle

Thiago Motta was spotted in conversation with the Canada international at full-time of the 1-1 draw between Lille and Juventus on Tuesday night.

The Bianconeri are keen to add another striker to their squad, as Arkadiusz Milik has been out for all of the 2024-25 season and could leave by the end of the season, which has left Dusan Vlahovic as the only recognised centre-forward in the senior squad.

David is into the final year of his contract with Lille and is also expected to leave by the next summer transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Lille could even be convinced into letting him go for a fee of around €15m-€20m in January, but Tuttosport add that that figure is still too high for Juventus after a session of heavy spending in the summer.

Though other teams in the Premier League including Arsenal and Manchester United could turn to David as well in an attempt to solve their respective issues at centre-forward, Cristiano Giuntoli has been following him for some time already and Thursday’s reports suggest that this could come to benefit Juventus in the long-run.
