Guglielmo Vicario risks being the lone target left for Juventus between the sticks. They relayed to Aston Villa that they will no longer pursue Dibu Martinez. Instead, PSG are closing in on Zion Suzuki, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).
Luciano Spalletti admitted their interest after a recent friendly, adding that the Japanese international had a prohibitive price tag and that they needed to investigate why the Italian shot-stopper fell out of favor. In recent days, the Bianconeri have been offered Noah Atubolu. He has been frozen out because he’s refusing to extend his contract with Freiburg.
For now, Juventus are more oriented towards Vicario and Suzuki. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, more splurges are unlikely after the big investments in their frontline. The Spurs goalie could end up being the choice because he’s the cheapest and easiest to sign.
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Lucas Chevalier are among their secondary targets, should PSG purchase the Parma star. According to La Stampa, the Old Lady’s brass has had some contacts with the entourage of Anatoliy Trubin. He could leave Benfica this summer, but his valuation exceeds €30M.
It’s not great that it has taken them this long to solve one of their main problems, but their recent signings suggest that sometimes the outcome is worth the wait. The Spurs man would be an upgrade over Michele Di Gregorio, but he’s not great with his feet and has no upside. Going with the most convenient choice wouldn’t look too good in a pivotal role. It’s time for them to widen the scope, even at the cost of onboarding somebody relatively unproven at the top level.
