Ahead of tonight’s Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter Milan, Cristian Chivu faces last minute selection headache as he weighs up experience over exuberance.

According to reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport, the biggest question marks appear to be in the centre of midfield and one the left-flank.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to start over new signing Petar Sucic.

Sucic has been impressive since his arrival from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer.

However, Chivu seems to prefer the experienced Armenian for the derby clash.

Mkhitaryan stayed in Lombardy over the international break, working with Chivu and the other players who stayed behind.

Reports last week suggested that Mkhitaryan had even been mentoring the likes of Andy Diouf in Inter training during the break.

The other uncertainty for Chivu’s lineup is whether he opts for Federico Dimarco or Carlos Augusto on the left-hand side.

Dimarco is the tried and tested choice, whilst Augusto could offer a surprise alternative in the position.

Dimarco had a goal ruled out through VAR in Inter’s defeat to Udinese before the international break.

Augusto, meanwhile, has a habit of starting from the bench.

He has come on for Dimarco in both of the club’s Serie A fixtures this season.
