Karim Adeyemi ‘to join’ Barcelona in €22m deal plus add-ons | OneFootball

Barcelona are said to be close to signing Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi.

Sky Sports reports the clubs have agreed a €22m fee, with up to €7m in bonuses and a sell-on clause. The Athletic reports the same. The reports added an opening €20m bid was rejected earlier this week, and that only final details remain before an announcement expected in the coming days.

The 24-year-old Germany international endured a mixed season, hampered by fitness issues and a late dip, and was not selected for the World Cup. He still produced 10 goals and 6 assists in 39 appearances for Dortmund.

Arriving from RB Salzburg in 2022, Adeyemi has 36 goals and 25 assists in 146 matches for the Bundesliga side.

Capable on either wing, off the striker or through the middle, Adeyemi would add versatility. Barcelona are overhauling their attack after the departures of Ansu Fati to Monaco, Robert Lewandowski to Chicago Fire and Marcus Rashford to Manchester United, having already signed Anthony Gordon this summer. The Spanish champions are reinforcing a heavily reworked forward line.
