Karim Benzema hints at Real Madrid return | OneFootball

Former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has this week admitted that he would be open to a return to the club.

This comes amid confirmation that, so long as Florentino Pérez is in charge in Spain’s capital, the door will remain open to a reunion.

Benzema for his part brought a close to his iconic Real Madrid stint in 2023, departing for the riches of Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.

With his contract terms winding down in the Middle East, though, it has surprisingly been suggested that the Frenchman could make his way back to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking during an interview with Diario AS this week, the possibility of as much was therefore put to Benzema himself.

And the 37-year-old, in quotes cited by Fabrizio Romano, refused to rule out a potential Blancos reunion:

“Possible Real Madrid return? If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I could never say to to Pérez. I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens.”
