Kelvin Amian is at the heart of a yellow-card administrative mix-up that could affect Nantes' plans for Le Havre and Lille. The club are not at fault.
According to L'Équipe, the issue stems from the Coupe de France tie with Nice on eleven January, drawn 1-1 then lost 3-5 on penalties. Amian committed the foul, but Dehmaine Tabibou was recorded as booked on the match sheet. Despite repeated appeals from Nantes' team manager, it was not corrected and days later officials confirmed the caution as Tabibou's.
On Friday the LFP disciplinary commission ruled the card should have been Amian's and said he is suspended for one match. His fifth booking dates to the 0-1 defeat to Lyon on seven February. Ideally he would have served the ban against Le Havre on Sunday 22 February at 17:15, but the communiqué says it takes effect only from Wednesday 25 February 2026.
That uncertainty could open the door for Le Havre. There are suggestions the Normandy club may lodge a protest if Amian plays on Sunday. Nantes know the chance of losing such a case is small, but the risk is not zero and they would rather avoid it.
As a result, Amian will almost certainly also miss the trip to Lille on one March. Nantes may be without him for two matches rather than one, through no fault of their own.
