A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has late this week been urged to call time on his Blaugrana stint, to depart for the riches of Saudi Arabia.
The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski has of course long seen the subject of his future dominate the headlines in Spain and beyond.
This comes with the Pole entering the final year of his contract at the Camp Nou.
Set to turn 37 later this month, it has in turn been suggested that, in the case of a reasonable offer arriving for his signature before the summer is out, Barcelona could take into consideration a sale.
A number of clubs from the Saudi Pro League, meanwhile, are understood to boast a long-term interest in his signature.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, Lewandowski has been encouraged to take up any such proposal immediately.
Speaking during an interview with Super Express, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, former Polish international Jan Tomaszewski revealed his rather drastic take that:
“This is the end. Robert is not very popular with the team, and Barcelona’s best players aren’t passing him the ball. Robert should end his time at Barcelona right now and move to a less demanding team in Saudi Arabia, as the best players in the world have done, with the exception of Messi.”
