Key Girona star facing a month on the sidelines with injury | OneFootball

Girona faced Feyenoord in their first-ever Champions League home tie on Wednesday evening. Having lost 3-2, things are now looking even worse with one of their key stars set to spend a period on the sidelines.

The player in question is winger Viktor Tsygankov, who played 29 minutes of the tie before coming off due to injury.

As per the club’s X account, the Ukrainian star could be set to spend over a month out of action with a hamstring injury, with a period of five weeks set aside for his recovery.

This is a big blow for Michel and his Girona side, who are set to face two tough home clashes against Basque opposition in the coming days and weeks, as they host Athletic Club and Real Sociedad at Montilivi.

The only plus side for Girona is that next week, there will be an international break, giving Tsygankov a good period to recover without distractions.

With Girona currently on a six-game winless run, things are set to get even tougher without one of their key attacking contributors.
