Lazio coach Marco Baroni is uncertain whether or not he’ll have Alessio Romagnoli at his disposal for the clash against AC Milan.
The 30-year-old has been a regular starter this season, forming a solid defensive partnership with Mario Gila. The experienced centre-back started alongside Samuel Gigot in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia clash against Inter Milan, but was taken off at half-time due to a muscle problem. It was later revealed he’s suffering from muscle fatigue.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Romagnoli missed training on Thursday, so his condition will be closely monitored over the next few days. Therefore, it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to swiftly regain his optimal physical condition and earn call-up for Sunday’s contest against his former employers.
On the other hand, Patric resumed training after sitting out in recent days amidst fears of an injury relapse. Previous reports suggested the Spaniard will be running on a lighter schedule to avoid another setback, but if Romagnoli is forced to miss the next showdown, the Barcelona native could step up, although Gigot and Gila remain the favorites to start.
The source also reveals that Tijjano Noslin and Loum Tchaouna are vying for a starting spot in attack in place of the injured Taty Castellanos, while Pedro’s candidacy seems unlikely as Baroni prefers to play him on the wings.
Gustav Isaksen, Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni are expected to maintain their spots in the supporting crew, and the same goes for Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi in midfield.
