Kike Olivera seeks Bahia exit amid Nacional-URU interest and notice over direct approach | OneFootball

Kike Olivera has asked to end his Bahia loan and is training alone, with Nacional-URU pursuing the forward. He remains contracted to Bahia and the Uruguayan club have been warned over a direct approach.

According to Globo.com, Nacional-URU first tried to take him on loan, but Bahia refused and planned to use him against Chapecoense on 17 July. He then reported family problems.

In a hotel meeting he said he intended to see out his Bahia deal and be bought permanently at the end of his loan, which runs to December. He remains owned by Grêmio until the end of 2027.

He trained for one day, then before Atlético-MG on 21 July again reported ankle pain, which had forced his substitution against Botafogo. Tests did not indicate an injury.

After Atlético-MG he was expected to rejoin the group, but he again cited personal problems and stayed away. He had also initiated contact about playing for Nacional-URU.

A third approach followed and Nacional-URU were notified by Bahia and Grêmio for contacting the player directly after a recent agent change. Bahia will only release him if reimbursed for the money already paid on his loan, with one instalment settled and a second due at season’s end.

He requested termination on Friday to return to Grêmio, but having played 13 Brasileirão matches for Bahia he cannot play for Grêmio. Grêmio have rejected a loan offer from Nacional-URU. Olivera continues individual work, citing ankle pain.
