We always give our all, whether in pre-season or for a competitive fixture. We’re using our squad, want to enjoy football and have done that this year. And I don’t want to stop yet. Joshua Kimmich: “It’s really special. This season in particular has been a very, very good Bundesliga season. Today’s game wasn’t a given either, coming here after the Madrid games and playing like we did against the team third in the table. It’s the 35th title and a special one how we’ve got here. We didn’t have any big ups or downs but have been very consistent. We haven’t quite managed it like this in previous years, even when we won many titles. Being so in control and as consistent as this year was very rare. We’re very proud of that. It’s my 10th title personally, which is a decent number. I hope to add more to that. Manuel [Neuer] is obviously a role model there.”

Leon Goretzka: “We knew already that we’d done it, but we really wanted to win this game today and do it in the manner we’ve done throughout the season. I think that’s made us so good this year, that there’s been no difference to us whether there was more or less on the line. We approach every game the same way, and that was our big task today. So we can really enjoy the win and the title. Our chemistry in the team has been great for years. There’s a real family atmosphere here compared to other top teams. Our young players have brought a strong mentality too, being confident but also grounded. They work hard and help us. We’ve seen that again recently. But they still remain grounded, which is what makes it all special.”

Jamal Musiala: “It’s a great moment for us. We’ve said since the first pre-season friendly that we want to take the next step with our mentality. We’ve shown that game after game throughout the whole season, always with the same energy and the same hunger, no matter who against. That’s brought us the title a bit earlier. It’s an important lesson for us to take.”

Sebastian Hoeneß (head coach): “I’d like to congratulate Bayern on the title. They’re thoroughly deserved champions, no doubt about that. Also the way they come across – as a team, the coaches, the club – deserves the utmost recognition. They’re a very good representative of Germany football, so I’d like to congratulate them, even though we lost here today. We managed to do lots of what we wanted. We had a good chance before the goal. Bayern then had a few good chances after the goal. It’s frustrating how they got their goals, how we gave the game away. We actually had a numerical advantage on the wing for the first goal, which is how we wanted to defend, but Musiala managed to keep the ball. We don’t need to say much about the second goal. Those are mistakes you can’t make against Bayern. Then they got into their groove and we didn’t look good for the third goal either. We changed up a few things at half-time. We then had to defend a lot. But I still need to praise my team for how we fought. We didn’t fall apart and made sure the scoreline remained okay.”

Atakan Karazor (captain): “We started the game well and maybe could’ve scored one or two goals more. We knew Bayern would have their chances. For us it was about defending well and blocking the balls. Now we need to quickly put this behind us and focus on the next two games. We know what chances are still ahead of us and we’ll give our all to get the maximum out of it. We want to learn from the mistakes. Our clear goal is to be in the Champions League places. We also want to progress in the DFB Cup. We’ll take the positives and want to end the season well.”

Chris Führich (forward): “We started well but then gave the game away with three goals in five or six minutes. That obviously hurts. But still, you can say Bayern deserve to be champions.”
