Kompany gives update on Neuer and Kane

Vincent Kompany offered cautious updates on Manuel Neuer and Harry Kane ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League trip to Atalanta on Tuesday. According to BuLi News, he declined to set any timelines.

Bayern extended their Bundesliga winning run with a routine 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Kane missed a matchday for the first time this season due to a calf knock.

Asked if the England captain could return in Bergamo, Kompany said: "Hopefully. If he makes it, that’ll be great. Otherwise, we'll do it with the guys we have."

Neuer was again substituted at half-time. Kompany said: "He felt something in his calf. We'll see what the results show."

Bayern travel to Bergamo for the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday night. Before the return at the Allianz Arena, they face a tricky Bundesliga trip to Bayer Leverkusen.
