Konstantinos Karetsas passes Borussia Dortmund medical

Westphalia’s Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper reports that Greek attacker Konstantinos Karetsas has passed his Borussia Dortmund medical. Sport Bild presently confirms the figures conveyed in an earlier Get German Football News report. Genk shall receive €30m for their player. An additional €2m in performance-related bonuses are tacked on as part of the deal.

BVB sporting director Nils-Ole Book remained behind as Dortmund embarked on their present Asia tour in order to shore up summer transfers. The newly appointed personnel executive has evidently succeeded in getting one important deal done. The matter of Köln starlet Said El Mala’s move to the NRW club nevertheless remains another matter. Book is not expected to seal the El Mala deal anytime soon.

Negotiations for Karetsas progressed quickly after Book and the BVB administrative team scheduled a second meeting with Genk. The completed medical now leaves only the final contractual formalities and official club announcement outstanding.
