Brendan Rodgers has been given a lot to think about this weekend. His team are closing in on a domestic treble once again. But he also oversaw Celtic as they registered their second-straight defeat at the hands of the Rangers. The first one, 3-0 at Ibrox, had been written off by many as a bad day at the office for the Hoops. Now, there is no hiding from it as they lost at home, even after coming back from a two-goal deficit, only to concede a late winner.

Overall, Rodgers' record against the Rangers is brilliant. But he becomes one of the few managers in Celtic's recent history to have suffered back-to-back Glasgow Derby defeats. Not something the Northern Irishman will be proud of, that is for sure.

Coming into the game, Rodgers had claimed that he had not seen much different in the Rangers since Barry Ferguson had replaced Philippe Clement as the club's manager. Kris Boyd did not forget that.

"Brendan Rodgers had a pop in terms of saying he has not really seen anything different – he has today."

Of course, Celtic fans won't like Boyd's dig. At the same time, it is not hard to see why Rangers supporters are celebrating today. They have not had much to cheer about this season and will most likely finish it without silverware.

That being said, this has been a great week for them. They booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals and then won a Glasgow Derby at Parkhead after almost five years. Their last win at Celtic Park had come back in 2020.

As for Celtic, there is no silver lining in this result, that is for sure. They need to go back to the drawing board. For a while, this team has been inconsistent. Perhaps they have become a bit complacent with the league title race as good as over. But they have to remember that every Glasgow Derby is a must-win, no matter what the points table looks like.
