Among the 10 most capped France players, at the point of their 100th appearance he leads for goals, ahead of Henry, Giroud, Griezmann and Zidane. He also tops the assist chart in that cohort, ahead of Zidane, Henry, Griezmann and Deschamps.

In honours by their 100th cap, Vieira, Henry, Lilian Thuram and Marcel Desailly had three, Griezmann, Zidane and Mbappé two, Deschamps and Giroud one, and Hugo Lloris none.

At Mbappé’s age, previous stars had fewer caps, including Henry on 70, Vieira 65, Griezmann 63, Zidane 49 and Deschamps 48.

For comparison, Neymar reached 100 at 27 years and 248 days, Cristiano Ronaldo at 27 years and 254 days, and Lionel Messi at 27 years and 362 days.

The European record for the youngest to 100 caps is held by former Spain defender Sergio Ramos. France’s all time appearance list is headed by Hugo Lloris and Lilian Thuram, with Mbappé now 10th.
