Kylian Mbappé hails new Real Madrid signing | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has this weekend revealed his appreciation for the talents of Blancos summer signing Ibrahima Konaté.

This of course comes with the pair primed to link up at club level for the 2026/27 campaign.

Defender Konaté recently brought a close to his time on the books of Premier League giants Liverpool, before swiftly committing to the terms of a contract with Real Madrid.

The Frenchman is expected to go on to play a leading role at the heart of Los Blancos’ backline both next season and in those beyond.

And one individual who appears confident that Konaté will prove to be a success in Spain’s capital is the aforementioned Kylian Mbappé.

Drawn on Konaté’s talents whilst on international duty alongside the stopper this weekend, frontman Mbappé was full of praise for his new club teammate:

“Konaté is a very aggressive defender, in the best sense. Never a bad move, he’s tough in his marking, he wants his opponent to feel like they’re going to have a rough night.

“I love defenders like him on my team.”
