Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé continued his ascent up the standings in the race for the next European Golden Shoe on Wednesday.

This came by way of his latest haul in front of goal, during Los Blancos’ La Liga meeting with RCD Mallorca.

En route to a 2-1 triumph for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, Mbappé drew Real Madrid level during the 2nd-half, before Jacobo Ramón completed the turnaround deep into injury-time.

The former’s strike means that he has now found the net 28 times, across what has been a thoroughly impressive debut La Liga campaign to date.

As much leaves the Frenchman sitting joint-2nd in the race for the 2025 European Golden Shoe.

Mbappé’s 28 goals amount to 56 points, the same tally managed by Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah.

The only player with more at present comes in the form of Sporting CP frontman Viktor Gyökeres, who has racked up 38 goals in the Portuguese top-flight, for a total of 57 points.
