Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Brestois faced off last Saturday night in a preview of their upcoming UEFA Champions League knockout playoff clash, with PSG claiming a 5-2 win at Stade Francis Le Blé.
Once known for his inconsistent finishing, Ousmane Dembélé has transformed into a prolific goal scorer in 2025. The former Barcelona winger has already scored 11 goals in six matches this year—more than any other player in Europe so far.
A player who had just one career hat trick until last week has now delivered two in the span of four days. He opened the scoring in the 29th minute, converting a precise cross from Bradley Barcola after a driving run. Dembélé struck again in the 56th minute, reacting quickly to a Fabian Ruiz shot that deflected off Marco Bizot.
His third was the highlight of the night, capping off a brilliant assist from Kang-in Lee in the 62nd minute. With 14 goals to his name, Dembélé now tops the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

While speaking to L’Equipe, former PSG forward Kylian Mbappé was asked to comment on the current goal-scoring form that his ex-teammate is experiencing after back-to-back hat-tricks in the wins over VfB Stuttgart and Brest.
“No, not at all [surprised about Dembélé’s form],” Mbappé told the French media outlet (h/t Paris Fans). “I’m his biggest supporter. I’ve known his talent since we were 14. I also think he’s had a mental breakthrough that’s made him more composed in front of goal. He’s a top player…
“With the form he’s in right now, he shouldn’t set any limits for himself. If he keeps this up, he’ll finish the season with plenty of watches (laughs).”
