Kylian Mbappé became the all-time leading scorer in World Cup knockout matches after netting against Sweden in the 2026 last 32.
He opened the scoring, then later made it 3-0, taking his tally to nine then 10 in knockout games. L'Équipe highlights the scale of the milestone.
His 10 knockout goals span 2018, 2022 and 2026.
The France forward now sits clear of two Brazilians: Leonidas, with eight in 1938 when there was no group stage, and Ronaldo, also on eight, a World Cup winner in 1994 without playing and in 2002, and a finalist in 1998 when Brazil lost 3-0 to France.
Next on the list are Fontaine and Pelé on seven.
