Kylian Mbappé (27) is expected to miss the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 between Real Madrid and Manchester City, according to information from Cadena Ser.

The French forward, who suffered a knee injury, is likely to be sidelined for the next three weeks. Already absent from the second leg of the play-off against SL Benfica (2-1 win), Mbappé will probably not feature in the clash against the Cityzens. A forced rest that should also prevent him from playing in the La Liga matches scheduled against Getafe, Celta Vigo and Elche.

If everything goes according to plan, Real Madrid’s number 10 could make his return in the second leg against Manchester City.

A key player for Real Madrid since his arrival at the club a year and a half ago, Mbappé has already scored 38 goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances in all competitions this season.
