Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé on Tuesday night hit an altogether noteworthy goalscoring benchmark in his Blancos career.

As much came during the club’s meeting with Olympique Marseille.

Real Madrid were of course back in action yesterday evening, kicking their Champions League campaign into gear in a meeting with French outfit Marseille.

And when all was said and done following a hard-fought 90 minutes, it was the aforementioned Mbappé who proved himself the star of the show once more.

En route to a 2-1 triumph for 10-man Madrid, the Frenchman was responsible for both of his side’s goals.

In the process, Mbappé took his tally in the colours of Los Merengues to a hefty 50 goals, in just over a season of play.

As much has seen the 26-year-old join some altogether illustrious company, chiefly in the form of Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

Which of the two, though, managed to hit the half-century mark faster in Spain’s capital?

As revealed by statisticians Opta, Mbappé managed his feat in 64 matches, whilst Ronaldo, incredibly, did so in just 54.
