Barcelona’s scouting network continues to keep tabs on emerging talents across Spain, and one name that has caught their attention for the summer of 2026 is Levante forward Etta Eyong.

The youngster has been one of the standout performers in La Liga 2025-26, quickly becoming one of the league’s biggest revelations.

At just 22 years of age, Eyong’s rise has been impressive. His eye for goal, sharp instincts in the box, and consistency have made him a talking point among Europe’s elite clubs.

Naturally, Barcelona’s interest in the striker is no secret, but Levante’s management insists they have no plans to part ways with their prized asset anytime soon.

Update on his future

Speaking to Radio Marca (h/t SPORT), Levante CEO Jose Danvila addressed the speculation directly:

“He’s not going to leave this winter. I’m constantly hearing rumours and we’re also receiving offers every day, but we’re not going to sell Etta Eyong in this winter transfer window.”

The executive went on to underline how vital the Cameroonian forward is to Levante’s season.

“The team’s priority is to stay up. It makes no sense to make an effort in the summer and then sell him in the winter.

“The club’s greatest asset is to stay in the First Division, even if a very large sum of money comes in.”

Danvila’s comments leave little doubt about the club’s short-term intentions. However, he did admit that the situation could change once the current campaign concludes.

“When the season ends, we will analyse the situation. If we remain in the First Division, there will be a revaluation of the squad.”

What about Barcelona’s interest?

In recent weeks, rumours have circulated linking Barcelona with a possible approach for Eyong, particularly with Robert Lewandowski’s contract set to expire in 2026.

Yet Danvila firmly denied any contact between the clubs. “Barça has not called Levante to inquire about Etta Eyong.

“As for the Premier League, we have not received a single call either. We did receive a firm offer for the player, but it was rejected,” he concluded.
