Despite there being talk of Jan Virgili potentially making Hansi Flick’s squad to travel to Asia and participate in the preseason tour, the youngster was not called up and was sent to train with the subsidiary team.
The manager’s overload of options in the forward department and the signing of Marcus Rashford, in part, contributed to the talented youngster being left out and needless to say, he does not see a route into the first-team for the upcoming season.
Now, Jijantes FC reveal that the player may well leave the club this summer, especially after his failure to secure a pre-season call-up.
As relayed by the Spanish outlet, Mallorca are in negotiations with Barcelona over a potential transfer of Virgili and see the youngster as fitting in well with their dynamics.

The young Catalan winger is optimistic about signing for the La Liga side and sees it to be the right move for his career, as he can see regular minutes in the top-flight with Mallorca.
Barcelona are not opposed to his departure and are studying the various formulae available to close the deal. Needless to say, it has not been decided if he will leave on a permanent transfer or a loan deal.
Earlier today, word had it that Mallorca’s coach Jagoba Arrasate even reached out personally to Virgili and outlined the role he could play for the club should he accept a transfer.
The coming days will be critical in deciding the academy star’s future, and Barcelona will hope to earn a sizeable sum from the transfer given their financial situation. After all, it is unlikely that he features with the B team after last season’s disappointment.
