The MLS doesn’t stop for anyone, not even for the World Cup. Plenty of teams have started to report signing players and confirm the departure of others.

Recently, San Diego FC and Columbus Crew have announced new signings to strengthen their defenses and midfield. Besides, the arrival of Antoine Griezmann opened the door for the Houston Dynamo’s new signing.

However, this time, we’re here to discuss a new deal confirmed by a team that had been fairly quiet in this transfer window.

According to Tom Bogert, D.C. United is set to sign a striker to reinforce its offense. This new addition has a pass on the LAFC.

D.C. United is set to sign Nathan Ordaz from LAFC

According to the aforementioned journalist and MLS insider, D.C. United is set to acquire El Salvador international forward Nathan Ordaz from LAFC.

Although the financial details of the deal have not yet been confirmed, the American journalist considers the Salvadoran's move to the Black-and-Red a done deal.

Following the estimates provided by player valuation websites, D.C. United would pay around $2 million, which is the striker's current market value.

However, as is often the case in football, LAFC could demand a transfer fee well above his estimated market value.

This signing has two sides to observe, both good for the player and his new club. First, D.C. United needs to improve its attack in the second half of the season to secure a playoff spot.

Currently, the team sits just outside qualification, more precisely in ninth place, in the qualifying matches for the MLS playoffs. On the other hand, we have Nathan Ordaz and his performances with LAFC.

Ordaz is an LAFC academy prospect. During his two years with the first team, the Salvadoran’s striker played 98 games, recording 14 goals and eight assists.

However, most of those games are from the bench with little playing time during matches. A move to another club in search of regular playing time is exactly what this young striker needs.

In the limited minutes he has played, he has already shown that he can be a dangerous attacking threat and find the back of the net on his own.

It is truly a heartbreaking deal for the LAFC fans, as they have grown attached to Ordaz as Bouanga's backup.

But when a young prospect proves his value in such a short time, it’s difficult to keep him without offering the key role he deserves.
