City put on a convincing, five-star performance that saw us beat Burnley 5-0 in the Under-18 Premier League North.
Teddie Lamb returned to the City team in style, giving our young boys in blue the lead on 15 minutes, with a close-range finish.
Christian Dunbar-McDonald quickly made it two with a clinical strike from the left-hand side of the Burnley box.
Lamb continued to be a nuisance upfront, winning and scoring, City’s penalty just after the half-hour mark, to complete an impressive first half.
The City number nine made it four on 47 minutes, scoring from the penalty spot again, for his first Man City hat-trick.
With the final kick of the game, Floyd Samba tapped home from close range to complete a five-star performance that sees City move five points clear at the league summit.
A morning of torrential rain cleared just before kick-off, with the sun poking through the clouds on a brisk Saturday morning.
After a tame opening 15 minutes, City stepped up a gear and found the breakthrough.

Burnley failed to clear a lofted ball by Leke Drake, and skipper F. Samba was able to tap the ball into the path of Lamb, who slotted home with ease for his sixth in seven league appearances.
The visitors continued to struggle with City’s intensity. It saw Dunbar-McDonald extend our lead 10 minutes later. His left-footed effort was too powerful as it slipped through Callum Feeney’s hands and into the back of the Clarets’ net.
Next to test Feeney was F. Samba, who stung the Burnley ‘keeper’s palms with a ranged strike.

Lamb was the quickest to react to the loose ball, beating Feeney and won a penalty after the shot stopper tripped Lamb.
The 16-year-old placed the spot kick into the bottom right corner to make it a comfortable three-goal lead.
Burnley showed glimpses of being quick and powerful on the attack, which meant City’s back line would have to be focused throughout the game if we were to earn an equally important clean sheet in the second half.

It took Lamb just two minutes to complete his hat-trick in the second half. The striker was brought down in the box again by Feeney, and he coolly chipped his penalty down the middle of the Burnley goal to make it four.
The remainder of the match was comfortable for City. It allowed Timeo Whisker and Dexter Oliver to build up more match minutes, and Theo Chimpango made his Under-18s debut.
And with the final kick of the game, F. Samba guided the ball home into the bottom left corner to complete a clinical City outing.
