Ex-Chelsea youngster Lamisha Musonda, 33, says he has only days left to live while battling a terminal illness.

The Belgian joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2012 alongside brothers Tika and Charly, spending two years in the youth ranks before returning home to play for Mechelen.

He later featured for lower-league Spanish clubs Llagostera and Palamos, then for Congolese giants Mazembe. Musonda won nine caps for Belgium’s U21s and retired in 2020.

His latest update reflected on cherished memories and the people by his side, highlighting life’s highs and lows and the difficulty of the past two years. The struggle also explained his absence from social media.

The update described his health as critical and set out a fight to survive with his family, along with an appeal for support and prayers.

A follow-up post thanked well-wishers, acknowledged imperfections and praised football and school for life lessons. It expressed a hope to be remembered for the good people he met, from team-mates to coaches and bus drivers, and urged taking each day as it comes.
