Lautaro Martínez has suffered a fresh setback and will miss at least Inter Milan’s next two matches. According to SuperDepor.com, medical tests confirmed a mild strain in the left soleus. The upcoming league fixtures are against Como and Cagliari.

His problems began on 18 February in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs, when he went off around the hour with a tear in the same area.

Inter were then eliminated from the Champions League after a poor display against a Norwegian side, losing 5-2 on aggregate.

The Argentina forward returned only on Sunday 5 April, scoring twice in a 5-2 win over Roma on matchweek 31. Inter lead Milan by seven points at the top of Serie A.

Martínez is Serie A’s leading scorer this season with 16 goals.
