According to Fabrizio Romano, Lazio are close to signing Reggiana goalkeeper Edoardo Motta to replace Christos Mandas, and Juventus would receive a 50% sell-on fee.
The 21-year-old would operate as understudy to Ivan Provedel, who has been Maurizio Sarri’s first choice this season.
Lazio have agreed to send the Greek goalkeeper to Bournemouth, reportedly on an initial loan with an option to buy that could become an obligation if the Cherries qualify for Europe and the 24-year-old reaches a specified number of appearances. The move is said to hinge on a replacement being secured.
Motta came through Juventus’ academy and had loans with Alessandria and Monza before moving to Reggiana. He initially joined on loan prior to making the switch permanent, establishing himself as first choice in Serie B.
This season he has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Emilian club, conceding 31 goals and recording five clean sheets.
