Lazio complete signing of Kenneth Taylor from Ajax | OneFootball

Lazio have completed the permanent signing of Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor, their second arrival of the January window. The club said in a statement that it had definitively acquired Kenneth Ina Dorothea Taylor.

The 23-year-old arrived in Rome on Thursday evening and underwent his medical on Friday before the deal was confirmed. Earlier on Thursday, Serbian striker Petar Ratkov became their first January recruit.

Taylor has signed a long-term contract after agreeing personal terms. Financial terms were not disclosed, though earlier reports suggested around €15 million plus a further €2-3 million.

He could be the left-footed box-to-box midfielder Maurizio Sarri sought before the transfer ban. Toma Basic’s resurgence helped plug the gap, and the pair could compete for a starting place, while Lazio are still expected to add a right-footed midfielder to replace Matteo Guendouzi.

He is delighted to make the move after facing Lazio in last season’s Europa League, a tie the Italians won 3-1. He has chosen the number 24 in homage to Kobe Bryant.
