Giacomo Raspadori has long been a favourite of Maurizio Sarri.
As we exclusively revealed on June 9, before Lazio’s transfer block was formalised, Sarri had already indicated Raspadori as an ideal signing, expecting the forward to leave Napoli in the summer.
Then Atlético Madrid stepped in and closed the deal, but the move has brought little joy to the player: short cameos, long spells on the bench.

Lazio could now become a concrete possibility, but only under two conditions:
a) the sale of Castellanos, with his final matches of the calendar year set to be decisive;
b) a formula allowing Lazio to complete an outgoing move in attack before an incoming one, with the usual complications of salary, loan terms, and timing.
Everything hinges on one key question: how will Lazio be allowed to operate on the market? Only once the club’s restrictions are clear can the Raspadori path reopen.

The forward does not want to spend another six months “in apnea” with limited minutes, but the conditions must be right.
Sarri, for his part, has always dreamed of bringing Mikel Oyarzabal to Lazio, as revealed last summer during the Raspadori talks, but Real Sociedad have shut the door firmly, renewing the Spaniard until June 2028.
Lazio will keep monitoring the situation closely while Raspadori waits for a project that guarantees trust and continuity.
