Lazio face a 2027 contract bottleneck, with nine players potentially free in June 2027, yet Claudio Lotito is not panicking as they string together three wins over Sassuolo, AC Milan and Bologna.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Lotito has offered players bonuses for winning the Coppa Italia and for extending the Serie A run to five, and that contract talks are being delayed until season’s end.
This June, only three deals expire. Pedro and Elseid Hysaj are heading out, while Toma Basic could still extend. Adam Marusic has already renewed.
Among the 2027 cases, Matteo Cancellieri could be sold after losing his place to Gustav Isaksen. Danilo Cataldi appears a straightforward renewal if Maurizio Sarri stays. Samuel Gigot’s fitness issues mean a termination to shed salary could be weighed.
Mario Gila is highly unlikely to accept current terms, so Lazio may seek a bidding war. Manuel Lazzari may make way as the club target a younger right-back, and mid-table sides would be interested. Patric still produces when fit, but a new deal remains uncertain.
At left-back, Alfonso Pedraza is on his way this summer, so either Luca Pellegrini or Nuno Tavares could depart, with the Italian currently likelier. Despite Edoardo Motta’s bright start, Ivan Provedel should be kept for at least another season. Alessio Romagnoli is said to be betrothed to Al-Sadd, and a strained rapport with Lotito could still push him out.
