Lazio have turned down AC Milan’s opening offer for Mario Gila, with president Claudio Lotito intent on maximising the sale. According to Sky Sport Italia, the bid sat below his €30 million valuation, while Real Madrid are due a 50% sell-on.
Alfredo Pedullà reports Milan proposed €23-24 million plus €3-4 million in bonuses. He adds Lotito had previously accepted an Atalanta offer around €25 million, but now sees scope for more given Milan’s push.
Despite arriving late to the race, Milan have moved to the front with a contract worth almost €5 million net per year for the 25-year-old.
Gila’s agent, Alejandro Camano, travelled to Rome on Monday to negotiate on Milan’s behalf.
The Spaniard joined Lazio in summer 2022 and has since become one of Serie A’s most reliable centre-backs.
